GoFax prohibits advertising, telemarketing, bulk, and impersonation faxes. We investigate every report and suspend accounts that break these rules. See our Terms of Service.

Was it sent through GoFax?

Every page sent with GoFax has a header line at the top, like this:

10/24/2026 02:15 PM ET FROM: Jane Doe (via GoFax) FAX: +1 XXX-XXX-XXXX TO: +1 XXX-XXX-XXXX PAGE 1/3

  • FROM is the name the sender entered, followed by "(via GoFax)".
  • FAX is a shared GoFax sending number used by many senders. Calling it plays a short message that points to this page; it won't reach the person who sent the fax.

How to report

Email abuse@gofaxmail.com with:

  1. Date and time the fax was sent, as shown in the header.
  2. Sending number shown after "FAX:" in the header.
  3. Number of pages.
  4. Your fax number that received it.
  5. The sender name after "FROM:", and a short description of the problem (for example, advertisement, repeated faxes, or someone pretending to be another person or organization).

Please don't send copies of pages that contain health, financial, or other sensitive information. The details above are enough for us to find the fax.

Stop faxes to your number

To stop faxes to your number, email abuse@gofaxmail.com with the subject "Stop faxes to my number" and include your fax number. We add your number to our do-not-fax list:

  • No GoFax user can fax your number after that. Keep in mind this also blocks faxes you may want, such as forms your patients or customers send you.
  • Anyone who tries sees: "This number has asked not to receive faxes sent through GoFax." We never tell them who made the request.
  • If a specific sender is the problem, include the date, time, and sending number of their fax too, so we can review that account.

You can ask us to remove the block at any time from the same email address.

What happens next

  • We reply to confirm we received your report. Response time: Within 1 business day.
  • We review the account that sent the fax and suspend or close it if it broke our rules.
  • We don't share the sender's personal information without legal process, but we cooperate with law enforcement and regulators as the law allows.

If you received a junk fax in the US, you can also file a complaint with the FCC. In Canada, you can report telemarketing faxes to the CRTC National Do Not Call List.
